You are invited to submit a paper in the field of mathematics
education research. The main language is English but papers may also be written in Swedish. During the paper sessions accepted papers will be presented
and discussed. Deadline for submission of paper proposals
(max. 10 pages, Word template to be downloaded here: madif8 (dotx) or here madif8 (docx) ; please use this template and submit a word file) is November 1, 2011, notification of acceptance
by December 1, 2011. Deadline for (revised) paper to be available (for
conference participants) on the Madif8 web site is January 10, 2012. For
publication in the proceedings, the deadline for the revised paper (Word template to be updated) is March 1, 2012. Please
send your paper as an e-mail attachment to the chair of the programme
committee. A research report will have 45 minutes (note the change from 60 min that was previously announced, due to the number of papers) for presentation and discussion,
in parallel sessions.
Short communications
Peer review
There will be a peer review process of the submitted full research
paper
contributions,
where contributors (voluntarily) will take part in the review process
by
reviewing one or two submitted papers. The papers will aslso be reviewd
by the programme committee and external experts. It is expected to be a
constructive review process, where reviwers give suggestions to their
peers
for improving the quality of the contributions. The final decision of
acceptance will be made by the programme committee.
Conference venue: Umeå University, Naturvetarhuset (see map), rooms: see programme above
The welcome dinner will take place at Restaurant "Sävargården"
Conference fee: The conference fee is 1300 SEK including lunch and coffees, conference material, and the conference proceedings; welcome dinner on January 24 is optional to an extra cost of 300 SEK. For fully paying conference participants at Matematikbiennalen 2012 , as well as for (at least half time) research students, the registration fee for MADIF 8 is reduced to 800 SEK. Registration can be done online (se link below), deadline 10 January 2012.
Accomodation: At nearby hotels. Bookings can be made with the online registration or by contacting conference secretary Elisabet Norlin (telephone: +46 90 130035).
Language: The main conference language will be English. Some papers and paper sessions may be in Swedish.
Travel information: Please contact local organiser (see below).
Conference proceedings: A book of proceedings will be published in mid 2012 (included in conference fee).
