Travelling to Linköping
Supported by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences (KVA)
A conference entitled "Riemann and Klein Surfaces, Symmetries and Moduli Spaces" will be held in honour of Professor Emilio Bujalance on the occasion of his 60th birthday in Linköping (Sweden) from 24th to 28th June 2013.
The conference will be devoted to the mathematics Emilio Bujalance has worked with, with special focus on Riemann and Klein surfaces, i.e. complex curves, automorphisms of surfaces (real and complex), group actions on surfaces, Grothendieck theory of dessins d’enfants (maps and hypermaps) and topological properties of moduli spaces of complex curves.
The conference will have a computational/combinatorial flavour, with focus on group actions on Riemann surfaces, Klein surfaces and related structures such as complex surfaces or hyperbolic manifolds.
Among others, the following topics will be covered:
The conference is thought as a meeting point between the different areas involved with Riemann and Klein surfaces, following Professor Bujalance’s view of mathematics. Anyone with interest in automorphisms of discrete structures is welcome to the meeting.
The programme will consist of lectures (both 40 and 20 minutes long).
The venue of the conference will be the Department of Mathematics of Linköping University.
