TextMacro is a utility that comes in the form of a system preference pane. It enables the user to use text macros in all applications that use the Cocoa text system; user defined text can be inserted at the insertion point by a user defined keystroke or keystroke sequence. The macro text can be pure text or a more complicated construct, which, when inserted, repositions the insertion point to some place inside the macro text and "wraps around" selected text. The macro text can also contain tab stops, enabling the user to quickly navigate forward in the inserted text.
TextMacro also shows the text systems default key binding actions and lets the user alter them.
The macro definitions are global and can not be defined on a per application basis. On the other hand, the user can define many macro sets and switch between them.
